Genesis of the “Bedini Motor”
When people think of the Bedini Motor they are usually referring to “Bedini SG” or “Bedini School Girl” ENERGIZER.
What is commonly known as the “Bedini Motor” is actually the “Bedini SG” or the “Bedini SSG”. The “SG” stands for “Schoolgirl” and the SSG stands for “Simplified Schoolgirl”. I will explain why it is called the “Schoolgirl” below.
John Bedini was adamant that his “Bedini SG” was NOT to be considered a MOTOR as it IS NOT a device primarily designed to provide mechanical power, but instead what most of us refer to as the “Bedini Motor” is a high-efficiency battery charger/energizer.
John Bedini & Free Energy Science
John Bedini spent much of his adult life experimenting with and researching “free energy” technology.
In 1984 he published “Bedini’s Free Energy Generator” which was one of the first public disclosures of a free energy device by any author to appear in print. In this book, John Bedini describes how to connect an ordinary electric motor to a specially designed switching circuit that created what he called an “energizer”. This “energizer” allowed the system to “self-run” while charging its own battery.
Later in that same year (1984), John Bedini presented this “energizer” device at the “Tesla Conference” in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
At the conference, Jim Watson presented a large working model of Bedini’s “energizer” design… But the end result is not what Watson or Bedini were looking forward to.
Immediately after the conference, Jim Watson’s device was “confiscated” and Watson was offered a multi-million dollar pay-off to “forget about this device”.
John Bedini was also “roughed up” in his own shop and told “you will buy gasoline for the rest of your life… or else!”
John Bedini was shaken by this experience, but he defiantly continued working on his free energy theories and furthered his research in private.
The Birth of the “Bedini Motor” / “Bedini SG”
After many years of working in private, in 2001, a “twist-of-fate” occurred.
John was approached by the father of a friend. He was interested in John’s help with his daughter’s Science Fair project. John was glad to help… And he decided to do something extreme. He taught the 10-year-old girl, named Shawnee Baughman, how to build a simple free energy device to demonstrate at the Science Fair!
Shawnee followed John’s careful instructions and built a simple “Bedini Motor”/”Energizer” that did three important things:
- Rotated a roller-skate wheel
- Charged its own battery
- Lit an LED bulb
The science teachers evaluating Shawnee’s project didn’t approve of it because it violated the “Laws of Physics” they understood to be true. But the other teachers and students loved it, and Shawnee won “Best in Show.”
What the science teachers didn’t like is that her device ran continuously for over a week, spinning the roller-skate wheel and lighting the LED, of OVER A WEEK! This is NOT what they understood to be possible.
Shawnee’s Science Fair project would later become legendary when her and John’s story was written up by journalist Jeane Manning in the magazine “Atlantis Rising”.
This remarkable story explains the genesis of what has become known as the “Bedini Schoolgirl Circuit” also known as the “Bedini SG”.
How a “Bedini Motor” / “Bedini SG” Operates
A standard “Bedini SG” consists of a few simple elements:
- A flywheel with weak magnets attached to its perimeter
- A coil with 2 separate windings
- 2 batteries – 1 to provide power for the energizer and 1 to be charged
- A few simple electronic parts: 2 diodes, a transistor, a resistor, a capacitor
Simple description of operation:
- As the wheel turns the attached magnets activate the “trigger coil” as the magnets approach the coil.
- The trigger coil turns on the “main coil”. This generates a magnetic field that pushes the wheel forward due to the opposing “north polarity” of the coil repelling the “north polarity” of the magnet on the wheel .
- As the magnet on the wheel leaves the vicinity of the coil the “trigger coil” turns off the power to the “main coil” and the wheel moves forward freely due to inertia.
- As the next magnet approaches the “trigger coil” the process occurs again, continuously pushing the “Bedini motor” forward.
There is nothing unusual about what we have described so far… what we have is a low torque “electric motor”.
The unusual part – the “free energy part” – is WHAT ELSE John Bedini designed into this system.
High-Efficiency Battery Charging Using “Waste Energy”
The genius of the “Bedini SG” is how it charges another battery.
The “Bedini SG” charges a second battery using a specific electrical current isolated by this circuit that is usually considered “waste” by conventional physics.
How John Bedini Charges a Battery:
When an electromagnetic field “collapses” due to the breaking of its current, an interesting phenomena occurs… A large spike of voltage – which happens to be anomalous and does not have an explanation in modern electrical engineering theory – passes backwards through the circuit.
This anomalous “voltage-spike” is usually “engineering out” of conventional electronic systems as this “voltage-spike” could cause damage to various components of the system.
John Bedini’s devices take advantage of this “voltage-spike” by channeling the voltage either directly to a “charge battery”, or first to a capacitor and then to the “charge battery”.
Bedini has found that this high-voltage, pulsed, charging setup is superior to standard charging in many ways. We won’t go into the details here but more information on this is available in the ebooks “Battery Secrets” and “Battery Rejuvenation“.
John Bedini’s SG circuit makes use of the “waste high-voltage” produced to charge a second battery when the “main coil’s” magnetic field collapses as power is cut off to it.
Making use of this “waste high-voltage” allows the the efficiency between the power used to power the Bedini Motor (the rotating part of the system) compared to the amount of power entering the charge battery to be near 100%!
This means that nearly 100% of the power used to move the “motor/energizer” is recovered by the charge battery. And… this does not account for the “extra” work being produced by the system that is 1) moving the Bedini motor 2) powering any additional device such as an attached fan, LED, etc.
Due to the extra work being done, the Bedini SG is, therefore, a legitimate “overunity” or “free energy” device.

There is a LOT more to be said about the “Bedini Motor” / “Bedini SG”.
Peter Lindemann and Aaron Murakami were both proteges of John Bedini before Bedini’s untimely death on November 5th, 2016.
Lindemann and Murakami have written 3 ebooks and created 1 super-advanced video presentation detailing everything they learned directly from John Bedini about the “Bedini SG” including everything you need to know to build your own “Bedini SG” to Bedini’s exact specifications.
Each ebook is highly detailed but easy to read and understand, even if you know nothing right now about electronics or free energy science. Aaron and Peter explain it all so ANYONE can replicate a true “Bedini SG” themselves.
